The Hass Avocado is a type of avocado with dark green, dimpled skin. They are large and weigh 200 to 300 grams. The Hass avocado was first grown and sold by Southern California mail carrier Rudolph Hass, who gave this avocado his name.

Harvest and Transporting the Hass Avocado

The avocados are taken from the tree with care and are put into baskets immediately. Avocados are sensitive, get bruised easily, which is mostly caused when avocados fall on the ground or collide with each other during transport. To avoid this, we pack all our products meticulously, intending to have the avocados arrive at their destination in excellent condition.

Ripening of Avocados

Hass avocados, as any avocado, do not ripen on the tree, but after they have been harvested. Hass avocados can change from a dark-green color to a deep purplish when ripe. Although skin color helps in the visual selection of avocados, it is not always the best indicator for ripeness.

Because color can sometimes be misleading to judge the ripeness, the avocado is also “softening” at a varying rate, which is independent of the color.

Quick note for purchase and delivery

Hass Avocados are in season starting around the end of July and are depending on which area or country they are coming from. When in season, we have the Hass avocados in multiple sizes, which can be described as small to medium and medium to Large. The Hass is coming from farms in Northern Thailand, or we import directly from countries like Vietnam.

Price

The price per kilo – for Hass Avocado – is 180 Baht for a Medium-sized avocado, which is about 6-8 pieces per kilo and Large is 4 to 6 pieces per kilo. At the moment (August 2020), we have medium-sized avocados.

We gladly accept your orders with a minimum of 3 kilos.

The shipping fee for shipments throughout Thailand is 120 Baht.
